I Illinois Notes ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights. II., June 25. Jack A. Chambers, Tennessee sportsman, motored in from his Memphis home. Chambers, who has several thoroughbreds quartered here under the supervision of trainer Amadee Jeanfreau is expected to remain for several days. Jockey Ken Church, who encountered a dislocated shoulder when thrown from Hadamar following the running of the ninth race Saturday, will be forced to cancel his mounts for the next several days. John Bev resumed his saddle responsibilities Monday following a 10-day suspension. Bev will ride free lance. Trainer Tom Darrus journeyed in from Fairmount Park and immediately shipped the veteran racer, Chief Anderson, to the Collinsville plant. Chief Anderson is owned by the combined interests of P. E. fe E. P Cocklan. Edward Griffiin, custodian of the riders* colony at Fairmount Park, was among Mondays visitors. Griffin will return to the Collinsville track in time for Tuesdays program. Clarence Hartwick, owner of the good three-year-old filly, Sickles Image, returned from a brief visit to his home at Oxford, Mich. Hartwick reported that Ariel Image, dam of Sickles Image, was in foal to With Pleasure. Ariel Image has been barren the past several years. Clyde Troutt, conditioner of Eugene Con-stantin, Jr.s Prop, announced that jockey Job Dean Jessop has been engaged to handle the Constantin racer in the forthcoming edition of the Skokie Handicap. Jockey Frank Keene, brother of Harold Keene, who presently is leading the riders at Arlington, journeyed in from Fairmount Park for a short visit. Frank will resume riding at the Collinsville track Tuesday. Ross O. Higdon, trainer of those horses owned by the Oklahoma sportsman, H. H Mundy, stated that he had returned Wood Break, Bear Tag and Flag Miss to the owners farm situated near Pawhuska. Higdon will resume conditioning the trio later in the summer. Harry Trotsek said he has contracted jockey William McKinley Cook to ride one of his entrants in the Modesty. Jockey Ken Church, regular reinsman for the Trotsek unit, will have his choice of mounts. Jockey Andy LoTurco packed his tack and departed for Detroit, The veteran saddlemite will ride free lance during the remaining portion of the Motor City meeting. ♦ FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville. 111.. June 25. A. J. Horn, owner and trainer, departed for his Benkelman, Nebr., home upon word of illness of his wife. The 10 head he has quartered here are presently under the care of Mary Mackey, who holds an assistant trainers license. Leona McPherson has disposed of the mare, Brief Angel, to M. Holder. Terms of the sale were private. Trainer A. J. Tusa has turned out the Campaigner, Camps First, owned by F. Rando. The racer will be given a short rest and returned to racing at the meeting opening August 3. H. E. Riley departed for Raton. N. Mex.. with six head that have raced for him at this meeting. Included in the shipment were Nickel, Bonipad, Battle Scarred. Speedvine, Dewpan and Farmhand. Trainer Dan Hardy loaded out the trio Stony Snark, Flareto and Fast Donna, en route to Arlington Park. When G. H. Garrisons Kapi Boy scored easily in accounting for the Venice Purse on Friday night, this clever son of Okapi equaled the track record of 1:00 established by Candy Queen on June 24. 1926 Jockey James Barnes is recuperating in St. Marys Hospital in East St. Louis from a major operation due to a ruptured ulcer. Friends have donated blood to assist in the several blood tranfusions he needed. Trainer J. Bilrey brought the useful string owned by J. W. Snider here from Chicago. The six head are S. McLaughlin, Blue Agent, Potentate II., Dusty Days, Goliad. Bimebella. H. P. Laney has re-entered racing by purchasing the three-year-old. .Catmint, from K. S. Cleveland.
