Janson is elated over the success of Montpeliers Pintor in the Tremont for the colt by Goya TJ. — Step-ladder not only is the first stakes winner he has bred, but also was the first foal to arrive at Knollwood after Janson established the tidy farm on the Paris pike. Pintor brought 0,500 at Saratoga last year. In the same consignment was a colt by Priam II. from the imported mare Min-drum Maid, by Bahram or Mahmoud. This youngster went to the Mill River Stable for ,500 and Mrs. James F. Bryce thought enough of the colt to send him to England where he has not yet started. Ths season the Jansons will sell two colts at Keeneland Summer Sales. One of these is a handsome chestnut from Min-drum Maid and by War Relic. The other colt is a robust bay half-brother to the good stakes winner All At Once who ac counted for the Empire City and Hialeah Inaugural handicaps. He is by Hierocles — Blue Su, by Blue Larkspur. This week the Jansons are shipping to Arlington Park racing, two two-year-olds of Knollwood breeding. These are Rommel, a colt by Hierocles, and Kukla, a filly by Pensive.
