Ak-Sar-Ben Inaugurates Annual Meet Tomorrow Auntie, Omaha Favorite for Many Years, on Scene Again AK-SAR-BEN. Omaha, Nebr., May 16.— Everything is in readiness for Tuesdays opening-day program here at Ak-Sar-Ben which raises the curtain on the sport in the Cornhusker state. Pointing for the better offerings at Ak-Sar-Ben are several members of various stables who have returned to scenes of former glory. A favorite with local racing fans who will be again seen under the familiar silks of Gene Biddingfield is Auntie, seven-year-old mare by Time Signal who finished seven times in the money in as many starts over the Omaha oval last season. In stakes events her record was impressive, she having won the J. E. Davidson Memorial Handicap, placed in both the Inaugural and the Governors Handicaps and showed in the George Brandeis Memorial Handicap and in the 0,000 added Ak-Sar-Ben Handicap on closing day. She is a winner of five races in 10 starts this season Another who gained favor with Nebraska racegoers and who is ready to run here is Royals Last who won three out of five at Ak-Sar-Ben last year. His trio of victories included a division of the Inaugural Handicap and the Ak-Sar-Ben Princess Handicap. This year, as a four-year-old, he has scored -at Oaklawn. A returnee with dazzling speed, one who set the existing five-furlong mark here of :58, flat, is Black Hand. He is a four-year-old gelded son of Bold Venture, is a produce of the King Ranch and races for Carl Craig of Texhoma, Okla. Most recent arrivals for the forthcoming 35-day meeting included two consignments of seven head, each. They were the stables of Gene Biddingfield of Ryan, Okla., trained by Sam Barrett and that of Miss Alice Likins, Oklahoma City, which is conditioned by A. G. Pappan. Others who preceded them by a few hours included eight head owned and trained by Wilbur Brown of Auburn, Nebr.. and a half dozen owned and trained by Carl Craig of Texhoma Okla.
