Horses to Watch Horses who impressed Daily Racing Form representatives as being ready to win: LINCOLN FIELDS « ► AT HAWTHORNE DR. OLE NELSON— Likes the Hawthorne track and seems to be in good shape at present, following some outings at Sportsmans. RED SPEED — A winner in the South during the winter. Goes well on a sloppy track. EMERY AL — Seems to be in pretty fair condition and may find a race suitable to his ability at this track. WHIRLAHEAD — While he failed to win at the half-miler, was close up in several races and could be dangerous. , ANDY B. W. — Has been rested all winter and could be fit and ready for first outing. Likes this track. JOE GRAVES — Had three wins in first five starts this year. Could be a real threat in sprints. POMACE — This four-year-old son of Pilate has not been overworked and may show good form during the coming weeks. MAIL FROM HOME— Has some age on him but is still capable of doing some fair running if not too highly matched. PATIO PATTER— Raced will for owner Bishop at Sportsmans, winning a couple. GALA FETE — Is reported to be in good shape and ready to rattle and roll. Don t overlook this one in sprints. MANCHAC — Appears to be runding to top form. Won several races in succession last autumn. SOLICIT — Could be better than generally rated. Was winner of a couple at the previous meeting. Has not been extended. BELMONT PARK OUTBIRD — Was compelled to take complete overland route when making stretch bid last time. Better racing luck is all that is needed to assure victory. MATINEE IDOLi — Was practically left at the post in last start which undoubtedly cost the victory. Merits another chance against similar rivals. TRINACRIA — Lugged in during stretch run in latest engagement and was unable to be subjected to pressure. Is capable of besting ,500 foes. PATROL — This jumper showed good speed in first effort after lengthy rest. May have needed that one to attain top form. BASHAW — Lost considerable ground throughout in latest trip postward. MAINSAIL— Missed by the narrowest of margins when defeated by Bold Man. Improvement with additional racing is expected. T OMARKET — Is being prepped for future distance engagement. Latest mile and a furlong trial in 1:5335 indicates readiness. CAESAR DID — Appeared a trifle short in the Swift Stakes and that one may have served as the necessary tightener. PERMIAN — This two - year - old colt has shown improvement in each start. Victory in immediate future is expected. JOHN BARLYCORN— Closed resolutely in sprint event and appears ready for creditable route effort. ISASMOOTHIE — Came from far back to earn runner-up honors to Tahitian King in the Swift. Is ready for winning effort. EVENING OUT — The manner in which this daughter of Shut Out scored in debut would seem to suggest additional stake successes in the future. PIMLICO WHITE CLIFF — Fared poorly over a sloppy track, but may improve with the footing. HOMESTAKE — Displayed enough late speed in last to suggest victory over non-winners of two. MAIN SPEAKER — Closed considerable ground against ,500 claimers and may beat similar company. MUSCADO — Lone start of the year suggested race may have been needed to attain peak form. MERE BONES — Raced fairly well under ,000 claiming tag and slight improvement could mean brackets. | FOX LAIR — Sprint effort was fair and a subsequent mile trial in 1:45 suggests route race is in the offing. BILLS BEST — Has trained well over the Laurel strip and may appear in local sprint this week. CINDA — Classy miss has trained steadily in recent weeks and may appear in entries this week. i JOFIELD — Tired badly when sent a mile and a sixteenth recently, but seems likely to improve at the distance. WHITE HAWK— Cheap plater has trained well over an off track and improvement is expected. FLAG REQUEST— Recent effort showed improvement and suggested a victory in the near future. ED THE GREAT — Recent sprint was fair and additional distance may be needed for victory. ► SUFFOLK DOWNS CANT PLEASE — Continued to train smartly and should improve off his last outing. HELEN MAY— A sharp 1:15 for six furlongs is enough endorsement for this miss. STAFF CAR — The manner in which this fellow is handling his morning trials is enough to suggest he is ready for brackets. TROY ROAD — A mediocre plater who is j ; acting kindly in his workouts. Moves up when racing on an off-track. FIRST NIGHTER— The former stakes winner is training well enough to rate him a good chance in cheap company. Has been a mile in 1:4345. CAMOUFLET — This miss has been a handy five furlongs in 1:0225 to suggest she is steadily progressing and could win at first asking. MONTENEGRIN— The manner in which , . he handled the turf course in his last outing is enough to stamp him as one of the top sophomores for the grass. RUTH — A cheap miss who could surprise if she catches a muddy racing strip. DANDER, — May have been in need of race the other day. Rates another chance. MELLO JACK — May have moved too soon in his last outing. Rushed stoutly to gain lead and faltered near the end. SILENT MIRTH— Light rider had trouble with heavy headed campaigner in last start. STALWART SON— Was racing a little over his head the last time, but he still retains his speed and will be hard to catch when placed right. BYE AND BYE — Filly lost too much ground racing outside a bunched field in her last. She is dependable and will earn her way. EVICTED — Appears in excellent condition. Can better last when he was shuffled back after the start. HUGO YOU GO— Is coming along nicely and needs only the right placing to take the laurels. COBBER — Might have been an upset winner last week but for being blocked on the stretch turn. HEUTEL — Recently turned in a five-eighths work over a sloppy track in 1:00% handily, and he appears to be ready. BEULAH PARK TEMPORARY — A convincing winner who should have another good race to offer. JIMS TIGRESS — Missed when well fancied. Should not be long in winning. STORM OF GOLD— Failed when well fancied by connections. There will be a race in the condition book that will suit. SLIP O NED — Closed a good gap to be second recently in distance test and needs only a little more early speed to get the job done. HOOPSTER — A very easy winner in front-running style at one mile, belongs with ,000 company. IN LOVE — A beaten favorite who may have needed the race. Has speed and should last long enough next trip. ZABERNACK— Weakened after setting all the early pace in recent distance race and may go on next trip. POLANTE BOY— Needed that last race to perfect his conditioning. BOGIN — Has been a disappointment to his stable and should make amends. CANDIDATE — Is better than generally thought and is in top shape now. ASCOT PARK IS I ME— Closed willingly in last effort here and against a cheap field over a muddy strip may turn the trick. B TWO— Stopped badly on an •off" track in latest outing, but figures to improve over a fast oval. CRUEL SEA — Was placed in a sprint as a tune-up for next week. This one is capable of beating good horses at seven furlongs or longer. TETRATOMIC— Looked very good in seasonal debut and can be counted on to win several races before the end of the meeting. KING HALi — Wash short in last move here, but appears to be rounding into top form and should be hard to beat in next outing. BONA GIRL— In new barn and should make first start for new owner a winning one. GERTIES LAST— Did not run her best race here on Thursday and should make amends next time she goes. BY ACCIDENT — Turned in a good effort on Wednesday and may take it all in next outing at ,500. CONEWAGO — Looked very strong in finishing second and should earn brackets before too long. FIRE FLIGHT— Closed very fast while on the outside of horses in latest and against ,000 horses may have picture snapped. BELLE OF SHORE— In good hands and appears once again to be hitting top form. Always dangerous against ,000 horses. FAIR ARAB — May fare well in a distance race if not placed out of his class.
