HASTY FREEDOMS saved ground while in hand to the last three-eighths, was taken to the middle of the track for the stretch run and, responding to mild urging, disposed of TRICKY MAUD and won going away. The latter, a keen factor from the start, reached the lead when settled for the drive but was unable to stay with the winner, although much the best of the others. MIBELAIRE lacked early speed and could not get to the leaders when set down through the stretch. PRETTY TRICK was unable to keep up after displaying early speed. ARPEGE took an early lead, set the pace for three-quarters mile, then gave way. SO FAIR, in the deepest going throughout, was never dangerous. LADY MIDAS showed nothing. TINY HARP was not persevered with when hopelessly beaten during the stretch run. Overweight— Tricky Maud, 2 pounds. Corrected weight — Mibelaire, 116. Tricky Maud claimed by Mrs. A. M. Creech. OFF AT 5:16 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. PETES VIGIL, in hand while racing within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, responded to strong handling during the drive and wore down FRENCH ROSE in the last strides. FRENCH ROSE, never far back, took command when settled in the stretch, continued gamely under urging but could not withstand the winner, although much the best of the others. GINGERBREAD, away slowly and losing ground from the outset, closed willingly on her own courage, , but could not threaten the top pair. MISSELECT tired after racing with WEE HASH to the stretch. ROYAL f LEADER was outrun. WEE HASH alternated with MISSELECT in making the pace to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. TOM A BOMB was never prominent. JUNIORS ACE was far back the entire trip. Scratched— 864073 Omaberry, 120; 86051 Diamond Moran, 107; 857474 Myrmidon, 113; 86407 McCosh, 120. NINTH RACE SUBSTITUTE DECLARED OFF.
