Maryland Notes PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 16. J. Fred Colwill, racing secretary, is busily Agent Freddie Krieger, a visitor here while jockey Sam Boulmetis is recovering from minor injuries sustained in a recent spill, advises that the Baltimore booter has agreed to ride a horse for the Addison Stable in the Queens Plate on June 2, Mrs. Ada L. Rices Cerise Reine, runner-up in the Kentucky Oaks will be shipped to Pimlico for the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes on Saturday, May 30 according to word received from trainer Howard Hoffman. Calumet Farms Bubbley, winner of the Kentucky Oaks, also is regarded as a probable starter in the fixture. Don Reed, director of publicity at Pimlico, will represent the turf publicists of America on June 10 at the open forum of the annual meeting of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners in Boston. Reed is president of the publicity group. Fifty-three Maryland-bred two-year-olds are eligible for the Back Again Purse, one of the special features of Preakness Week at Pimlico. The Back Again is scheduled for next Thursday and will share billing on that program with the Whirlaway Purse. Horses eligible for the Back Again are two-year-olds which were shown last spring in the annual yearling show of the Maryland Horse Breeders Association, which is held at Pimlico. Some of the prominent prospects are Sweet Cleo, Big Night, Mountain Holly and Bronze Warrior.
