Seven-Horse Field Goes In Beulah Top Offering Edgelake, Red Frances, Ropley In Mile and Sixteenth Feature BEULAH PARK, Grove City, Ohio, May 16. — Racing at this central Ohio course moves into its second full week with the eight-race program of Monday. Recent heavy rains here have left . the track in rather rough condition and the races are filled mostly by the cheaper horses. Racing secretary Eugene Bury has, however, been able to draft three of the eight races at distances of one mile or farther for the second time at this session. Mondays headliner is the mile and a sixteenth seventh race titled the Southern Hotel and catering to claimers with tags of ,000. Despite the lack of quality among the horses in the feature the race is brimful of interest as several of the seven entrants have raced prominently at this meeting. Edgelake, who races for M. Gabriel, demonstrated his present fitness at last asking when he was a close third at the end of that test at Mondays distance. He came from far back to earn his placing and left the impression that he needed only more early speed to beat his rivals here. Mr. and Mrs. R. Rainey have named their Red Frances to the Southern Hotel and this daughter of Bless Me earns serious consideration on her latest venture which found her the easiest sort of winner in front-running style at six furlongs. She coasted across the finish line and appeared to be able to carry her speed farther. J. Raders Ropley has been a consistent sort in his local outings, having won and finished second and that record earns him a chance here. R. Weentz Royal Eddie convinced that she is ready for a peak effort by her third here the other day.
