. Jockeys Under Suspension Barred From Primary Stakes HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif. May 26. — Jockeys under suspension will not be permitted to ride in primary stakes, according to a decision of the board of stewards. Reason for this, according to the stewards, is that with 12 primary stakes being run this season in addition to the 23 major stakes, Hollywood Park will soon be scheduling almost a stake race a day. To include the primary stakes among stakes en-! gagements that may be exempted from penalty a suspended jockey to ride almost every day and a suspension would therefore virtually be no penalty. This decision has been explained to the riders and their agents. The stewards also reiterated to them that permission to ride stakes engagements on file is discretionary with them in regard to the major stakes.
