Tritium Arrival At Pimlico Track Brookmeade Miss to Be Sent Out After Black-Eyed Susan Stakes on Saturdays Card By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 26. — Brookmeade Stables Tritium, one of the ranking members of the current three-year-old filly division, has taken up local quarters and will use this racing surface as her final training grounds for Saturdays 0,000 added Black-Eyed Susan Stakes, to be contested at the mile and one -sixteenth distance. Tritium, a daughter of Cosmic Bomb and Katylea, made a successful invasion of Maryland last fall, accounting for Laurels rich Selima Stakes in impressive fashion. She apparently is at peak form at present following three races this spring. She ran third in the Prioress in her debut after being bothered, then was moved into second position through the disqualification of Flamenco. She was then beaten at odds-on in allowance company and came back to be third behind Secret Meeting and Wings o Morn in the Acorn. Cain Hoy Stables Wings o Morn and j i Louis Lee Haggin II.s Sally Catbird qualified for the race with their efforts in Mondays Bed o Roses, in which they finished noses apart as named. Wings o Morn took a little roughing from her rival before gaining the nod and seems considerably the better filly. Sally Catbird Gains Admirers Though beaten on Monday, Sally Catbird gained admirers through her tenacity during the stretch run. In fact, she impressed more in that defeat than in a pair of sprint victories earlier in the meeting, in which her time was far short of sensational. The Bed o Roses, while it brought out two certain starters in Wings o Morn and Sally Catbird, practically eliminated from consideration Wally Schwabs Milspal and Mrs. Mabel R. Burkes Pashpie, who were soundly beaten. Ridge Stables Slave Girl, like Tritium, was shipped to Maryland especially for the Black-Eyed Susan and the manner in which she has improved would suggest that she rates consideration. A double winner in Florida, the daughter of Amphitheatre was given a stakes chance in the Betsy Ross at Garden State and was just a length and a half behind Brookfields Is Proud while finishing third. With Calumet Farms Bubbley stabled at Delaware Park, it seems likely that many trainers who had intended to race in the Delaware Oaks will now alter their plans and ship here for the Susan. Among the well-regarded lassies who could make an appearance here are Mrs. Ben Whitakers Grecian Queen, Belair Studs Sabette and Ogden Phipps Her Duchess. Other possibilities for the local fixture include Myhelyn Stablers My Truly Fair, Howell E. Jacksons Ballerina and Mrs. Gerard Smiths Dont Argue.
