I i , 1 ! i i , . j . , Suburban Topweights In Creditable Trials Tom Fool Goes Mile in 1 :41 Vs and One Count Ten Furlongs in2:055i BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 26. — The topweights for Saturdays Suburban Handicap were seen on the main track at Belmont Park this morning in extended preps for the Memorial Day mile and a quarter run. Greentree Stables Tom Fool, who wone the Metropolitan for his third score in as many starts this year on Saturday, stepped another mile in 1:41% this morning and was just breezing over the fast track. The strapping son of Menow was under light restraint as he reeled off the first seven furlongs in :23%, -.ZSs, :483s, liOls, l:14.y5 and l:273/5.He was then waved down by trainer John Gaver and got the last eighth in :13%, galloping out another eighth in :143/5 while being eased up. Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords One Count, who has not started since finishing third in the Gallant Pox Handicap, in which he at- tempted to give chunks of weight to Royal Vale and Cold Command, was sent the Suburban distance this morning and got the 10 furlongs in 2:05%, handily. He stepped the quarters in :24%, : 24, :25, :25% and :26%, getting the final eighth in : 132/5. Mr. Jeffords Kiss Me Kate, who may be coupled with One Count in the Suburban, in which she has only 112 pounds to carry, worked a mile and a furlong in 1:54%, also going along handily. The Count Fleet mare, who won the Firenze Handicap impressively in her last start, stepped the half in :50, six furlongs in 1.16%, seven furlongs in 1:29 and mile in 1:45%. She stepped the last quarter in :25%, last eighth in :13. Arnold Hangers Iceberg TJ, who may be a Surburban starter under a feathery 108 pounds, went an easy mile and a furlong in 1:58% this morning, the mile in 1:46.
