Repeat Accounting For Thasian Hero Takes High-Priced Ctaimer At Garden State in Handy Fashion Oyer Sloppy Track GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J„ May 26. — John L. McKnights Thasian Hero captured his second consecutive event at this course today, handily running a mile and a sixteenth over a track made sloppy by early morning deluges. Jockey Bobby Stevenson sent him to the front when he was ready rounding the final turn, and reached the wire six lengths in front of Mrs. G. Silvers Ruthred. The latter held on when displaced by the winner and bested Duntreath Farms The Eagle by three-quarters of a length. Only six competed, and Joe Gavegnanos Fighting Fleet finished fourth. Thasians Hero was second choice of the 17,964 patrons attending this damp and cloudy afternoon, returning .00. The six-year-old son of Attention — Thasos ran the distance in a very creditable 1:44% and he probably was showing his best effort this season. He shouldered 118 pounds, giving away 11 pounds to The Eagle, who he defeated by only a nose over a similarly wet strip here earlier in the meeting. Piarullis Charges in Limelight J. F. Piarulli, owner-trainer from Camden, N. J., saddled his second winner of the afternoon in the sixth race when his Agrip-pa easily led seven rivals to the end of a mile and a sixteenth with a margin of four and one-half lengths. A. G. Nelsons Avon Lady closed well to be second and she was two and one-half lengths in front of Mrs. R. Oppenheims Winging Along. Agrippa was ridden by Joe Culmone. He was favored and paid .80. The earlier victory for Piarulli came with Dee and Gee Stables East Bay in the fourth race. Charlie Burr was up on this one, who was ridden out to a safe advantage over A. J. OConnells Lucky Lady, with J. D. Morans Coronus third. Also the public choice, East Day paid .20. Jockey Basil James shared honors by riding both ends of an 0.00 Daily Double.
