Nearula, Epsom Derby Colt, Improving From His Lameness LONDON, England, May 26 Reuters.— Trainer Captain Charles Elsey stated today his Derby colt, Nearula, was responding to treatment for lameness and was much better. "We are much happier about the situation, but we have a lot to do between now and Derby day," said the conditioner. The Derby will be run at Epsom on June 6. The uncertainty about this Yorkshire- trained colt was reflected in the betting and some bookmakers were today offering 10 to 1 against the former favorite with the Queens horse, Aureole, the present favorite at 3 to 1.
