FUSBY went to the. front soon after the start and held sway thereafter under adept handling. WAREHOUSE raced in close pursuit of the pacemakers from the start and held on willingly in a sharp effort. WATCH IT GROW closed with good energy and wasrgradually getting to the top ones. W00DFELL0W tired when called upon for his best effort. POPADARIS rallied too late to become an endangering factor. SAM PARK failed to stay. DIRECT AIM lacked the necessary rally. GOLD MONEY quit. GET BUSY raced evenly. GANGLAND caught tiring horses. GEORGIE PRICE was unable to keep up. RED PASS and EASTERN GLOW were outrun. COMETS GLOW never threatened. REPLYS IMAGE WAS KICKED DURING THE POST PARADE AND ORDERED DECLARED BY THE STEWARDS. THE DECLARATION OF REPLYS IMAGE, A MEMBER OF THE MUTUEL FIELD, IN NO WAY AFFECTED THE WAGERING ON THE RACE NOR THE DAILY DOUBLE. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. HASTY BOY, a sharp factor from the start, held a slight lead when set down for the drive and increased the advantage thereafter when fully extended. HAM HOCKS worked his way forward to attain a contending position when straigthened for the stretch run, but was unable to overtake the leader when subjected to brisk urging. ROMANIUM raced in closest pursuit of the leader during the early running, gained near even terms with the winner at the furlong pole, then tired when punished. DIONYSIA raced evenly through the stretch without apparent mishap. CALAMUS was unable to keep up. SPEED KING was outrun, as was BUCKSHOT. THRUST quit, as did ROYAL REBEL. TIMBER gave way suddenly after five furlongs. GALE TONI showed nothing. BYNG, unhurried when outrun early, responded readily to take command when shaken inside the stretch and won drawing away. ROMAN WAY made the pace to the final Jump under hustling tactics, swerved repeatedly while tiring during the late stages interfering slightly with SPRINGDALE, recovered gamely, but was unable to withstand the winner. A claim of foul against ROMAN WAY by the rider of SPRINGDALE was not allowed. SPLEEN, far back early, rallied loo late to become an endangering factor. SPRINGDALE, always within striking distance, was blocked during the stretch run and retired steadily thereafter. SEA DEFENSE was always outrun. BLUE PLATE was through early as was REDUCE.
