The latter, gradually worked way forward, finished willingly but could not reach the top one. CANAAN PASS began alertly, raced wel throughout, but was unable to get to the leaders when set down in the drive. ALEIF faltered during the final furlong. ASSERT raced wide. MISS CINDY was outrun. HOW BOUTHAT made a mild bid approaching the stretch, then weakened. FIRE began sluggishly. ROSA CLAIRE was. never prominent. LADY ADMIRAL showed nothing. HARyEST TIME took an early lead, set the pace to the stretch while engaging FREE AND EQUAL, but had nothing left for the drive. BILLS HYGRO saved ground, but was outrun. SWAP OUT raced wide entering the stretch. HOWARD DEAR was never dangerous. WHAMMO began sluggishly. CATHY JO was through early. TIDY SUM, never far back, drifted out at the stretch turn, responded readily when straightened for the drive and wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth. TEST PATTERN took command at once, set the pace until inside the stretch but was unable to hold the winner. IS THERE lacked early speed but finished strongly in a good performance. BONRILLA raced prominently to the final furlong, then weakened. NOBILITY failed to rally when set down through the stretch. STAG was never prominent. SNOW WAVE was through early. LILLY VALENTI went to the front 2£ early, bore out at the stretch turn and, continuing to drift to the outside during the drive, wore down CHIC S. WAVE, then held SUFFKI safe. The latter, away fast and forwardly placed from the outset, was sent to the outside of LILLY VALENTI for the stretch run and, closing fast, could not overtake the latter. THE GINK lacked early speed, saved ground during the drive and finished fast in a sharp effort. CROWNLET raced wide through m the stretch and failed to rally when set down in the drive. CHIC WAVE raced evenly to the stretch, took com- o mand when LILLY VALENTI bore out, but failed to stay. ABISOK was outrun. STORM BIRD, outrun to the last three-eighths mile, drifted out at the stretch turn, took command between calls when near the finish, but was unable to withstand the top one. LITTLE BOBBY, reserved early, moved into command nearing the stretch, but faltered when set down in the drive. GYPSY- GLOW bore out at the final turn, but closed well when straightened for the stretch run. CEE-YUMA made a good bid in the early stretch, then weakened. BOLTON tired after displaying early speed. DARING KING could not keep up. ROYAL LEADER was outrun. DIGIT failed to stay. MULEY showed nothing. BLESSETTE guit after racing forwardly placed to the stretch.
