Commission Gives Statement On Unusual Disqualification SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 16. — The Massachusetts State Racing Commission held a conference today with the stewards of the Suffolk Downs meeting concerning the decision in the sixth race on Saturday, June 13, when the horse Greek Stadium, which finished in a dead-heat with the horse Time for Speed for win position, was disqualified for interfering during the race with the horse Rose Beauty, which finished third. The stewards disqualified the horse Greek Stadium, placing it third and moving the horse Rose Beauty up to become the dead-heat winner along with the horse Time for Speed. . In accordance with the authority vested in them under the rules of racing, the stewards exercised their discretionary power in settling this matter, which was clearly within their jurisdiction, and the decision rendered by the majority is set forth above. The circumstances prevailing at the moment were unusual, and in view of the fact that there is a division of opinion on the interpretation of rule 357, it is the intention of the commission to promulgates rules to cover specifically the placing of horses involved in a race where the horse in the dead-heat has been disqualified. 1 f ; : [ 1 r . r r j r y i [. 1 t e - s s e
