One of the largest gatherings of the meeting, 11,986, turned out on a delightful afternoon to witness the nine-race program here at Randall Park this afternoon. The feature attraction wasthe ,500 added Youth Stakes, in which a bulky field of 16 went to the post. A. L. Birchs Timely Tip won the Youthful, but those backing the son of The Doge had several anxious minutes as jockey Nazareth aboard Pinelet, who was fourth, claimed a foul against the winner. Timely Tip ran the six furlongs in 1:11 and when the result was made official paid 6.80. Fast Charger was second two lengths back and three parts of a length to the good of Jerrys Gem, who had led to just inside the furlong marker. Timely Tip was winning his second straight race here at Randall Park and his fourth of the season. Timely Tip was handled by L. Syfrig, who completed a double for the day. Herbert E. Simpsons Windy, nicely ridden by William Hartack, scored by a neck over Welcome Guest in the Cuyahoga Handicap Number Three, which was at a mile and a quarter. Windy set a track record of 2:03 in his winning jaunt and paid .00 as the public choice. It was the second victory of the afternoon for Hartack, he having previously won aboard Col-umcille in the fifth race. By finishing second in todays race Welcome Guest is still leading in the series with 39 points. Windy was making his first start in this years Cuyahoga and by virtue of his triumph is now second with 24 points. Windy was allowed to drop well off the early, pace and did not start to make a move until the horses were midway up the backstretch. At that time Blue Point was in front with Bevsboy second and Welcome Guest in third position. Racing into the far turn Welcome Guest moved through an opening on the inside to wrest command, but midway around the bend momentarily lost his advantage when Bevsboy showed in front very briefly. Welcome Guest shook Bevsboy off on the stretch turn and at the furlong marker was winging away by two lengths with Windy now second a head in front of Bevsboy who was beginning to tire badly. At the sixteenth - marker, Windy continued with his terrific surge and was within a half length of Welcome Guest and he collared him near the wire while being very nicely ridden by Hartack. V. P. McMahons Bless America, ridden by apprentice Thomas Clinch, defeated the favorite, Black Coffee, in the sixth race by a length and one-quarter, saving every available inch of ground throughout the six furlongs. If Money, also saving ground, was up to gain the show award, another five lengths back. The winner was clocked in 1:11 and paid .80. Young Clinch had won with Seguro earlier in the program, but was disqualified and placed third in that race. Mrs. James V. Stewarts Rustic Billy, given an excellent ride by Joe Servis, came from far back, circling his field on the turns and then outgamed both Governor Van and Albee inside the furlong marker. Rustic Billy was winning his second straight over the" local track and paid .60, running the five and one-half furlongs in 1:05. Governor Van was beaten one length and was another two lengths better than Albee.
