The latter, unhurried in the early stages; moved up gamely from the outside and was getting to the winner near the end. BETTIES BOWS weakened when the real test came. GREAT EAGLE tired. POMOLA gained the lead soon after the start and saved ground throughout, shook off FOREST KNIGHT at the sixteenth marker and then drew clear under pressure. The latter raced in closest attendance and loomed most dangerous at the furlong marker and then faltered. CHADACE closed some ground in the latter stages though never a serious contender. BEIRUT was never prominent. GRAY FOG showed little. TASSO T. went in the air at the start, moved into a contending position before the first half and then flattened out badly. Chadace claimed by A. SEGURO, unhurried in the early stages, moved along rapidly from the outside, and then lugged in badly through the late stretch bothering both MOOSE EYE and CROSS END. MOOSE EYES rider claimed a foul and, after examining the motion pictures of the race, the stewards disqualified SEGURO, placing him third. CROSS END opened a clear lead while saving ground on the final turn, was in close quarters inside the seventy-yard pole and lost all chance. MOOSE EYE raced in a favorable position throughout, yas knocked off strideby SEGURO near the wire and was eliminated. MOROCCO PRINCE moved up boldly while saving ground and then hung. BUBBLESTREAM raced evenly. MERRYMAKER was never a serious contender. LOVELY NOTE tired. RUSTIC BILLY, unhurried in the early stages, moved up rapidly from the outside on the turns and after disposing of ALBEE and GOVERNOR VAN, was drawing clear at the wire. The latter moved through on the inside, looming most dangerous at the furlong marker, and then could not resist the top one. ALBEE tired after making the pace to just inside the furlong marker. PANTATA raced evenly. WEE MOON weakened. WISE BILLING was never a factor. ST. JUDE stopped to a walk. The latter moved through on the inside to wrest command going to the far turn, momentarily lost the lead on the final turn, came on again in the early stretch drawing clear, but could not resist WINDY in the final strides. TIMELY TIP raced in a favorable position from-theoutset, responded gamely to urging through the stretch and was drawing clear near the wire. FAST CHARGER broke very .alertly, dropped back somewhat after the start, and then came on again in the late, stretch. JERRYS GEM held a slight advantage to just inside the furlong marker and then faltered. PINELET moved up between horses, was in close quarters in midstretch and lacked a sufficient rally. PINELETS rider claimed a foul against the winner but after viewing the motion pictures of the race the stewards could find no evidence of a foul being committed and the result was made official. YOUNG COLONY raced evenly for the most part. SET THE TABLE moved up rapidly after breaking tardily. READY NOW was never a serious contender. BREAKER was never a factor. MR. ANCHOR tired. HELIANTHUS showed little. MUSIC MAESTRO did not enter contention. ERMINE TAIL was far back most of the trip. JULIAN LOUIS passed tiring horses. CHIEF GENOA showed nothing. B.
