Stewards Rulings HAZEL PARK, Mich., Aug. 15. The board of stewards here ruled: "Jockey Jerry West is suspended for 10 racing days effective Tuesday, August 18, to Friday, August 28, inclusive, for careless riding in the third race on Friday, August 14." FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., Aug. 15. The stewards this morning issued a ruling suspending jockey Raul Alonso "for 10 racing nights, August 15 to August 28, inclusive, for crowding horses nearing the three-eighths pole during the running of the second race on Thursday night, August 13." Alonso was astride W. A. Fabrys Black Cat, who finished fifth. ATLANTIC CITY, Mays Landing, N. J., Aug. 15. Jockey Bernie Hewitt has been suspended 10 days by the stewards for careless riding astride Banta in Fridays fifth race. Banta was disqualified after having finished fourth. The ruling, which runs from August 17 to August 27, inclusive, stated that Hewitt had been warned on the previous afternoon. LINCOLN, Nebr., Aug. 15. The stewards yesterday issued the following rulings: "The chestnut gelding Sergeant Hal is barred from racing at this track; and it is recommended to the Nebraska State Racing Commission that he be barred on all grounds coming under their supervision. "Apprentice jockey Wayne Murty is fined 0 for crowding while up on his mount, Nebraska Bob, going around the first turn during the running of the first race on Friday, August 14, 1953."
