TAMPERO disposed of POTTERAC after five furlongs, drew clear and drifted out under steady pressure and withstood the challenge of ABSTRACT. The latter worked his way up into contention before the final quarter mile, drew up to the leader leaving the furlong pole but was forced to take off to prevent bumping, continued on and was bearing in near the end, hampering the rider. The stewards posted the inquiry sign and after viewing the pictures ordered TAMPERO disqualified and placed second. BUMBASHOOT rallied in the late stages to make up ground steadily.
