Riders Set August 20 For Annual Guild Day JAMAICA, N. Y., Aug. 15. The Jockeys Guild will hold its annual "Guild day of racing:" on August 20. On that date, all members of the Guild will donate their entire .mount income to the Guilds Welfare Fund, following: the procedure instituted in 1942. Jockeys having: no mounts that day donate their fees on the next day they ride. In some instances, members have made direct donations. Several racing: associations have equaled, the riders contributions on "Guild Day." Eighteen tracks will be in operation on August 20. They are: Atlantic City, Centennial, Dade Park, Del Mar, Fairmount Park, Hagerstown, Hamilton, Hazel Park, Lincoln, Nebr.; Longacres, Randall Park, Rockingham Park, San Mateo Fair, Saratoga, Scarborough Downs, Washington Park, Weymouth Fair, Wheeling Downs. Agua Caliente operates on Sundays and will have its own "Guild Day" at a later date. The Jockeys Guild is caring for several members who require prolonged medical and financial care and every effort is being? made to materially increase this fund.
