Nine repatriated war prisoners, including six stretcher cases and an amputee on crutches, returned to the United States today on the second "freedom flight" since the Korean armistice. U.S. Fliers Missing in East Germany HEIDELBERG, Germahy, Aug. 15. Two U. S. Army captains, engaged in field maneuvers near the iron-curtain frontier, mistakenly landed their light plane in the Soviet zone of Germany and were reported today as "missing and presumed held by the Russians." Ten Killed in England Crash MANCHESTER, England, Aug. 15. Two speeding trains collided on a high viaduct here today with such force that one crowded coach crashed through a two-foot-thick brick wall and plunged 90 feet into the Irk River, killing at least 10 persons. Fifty were injured. East Germans Ask Purge BERLIN, Germany, Aug. 15. The East German Communist trade union today demanded a sweeping purge of its leaders designed to crush what it described as "an underground" responsible for widespread strikes in Germanys Soviet occupied zone. Reds Order Sit-Down Strike PARIS, France, Aug. 15. - Communist labor leaders today ordered members of their unions to stage sit-down strikes in. French factories Monday in an attempt to put now life into the week-long labor revolt against premier Joseph Laniels economy program. Report Sultan Abdicates RABAT, Morocco, Aug. 15. The anti-French sultan of Morocco today was reported authoritatively to have agreed to step down from his silk-cushioned throne under pressure of rebellious tribal chief-tans who voted to oust him from power. The sultan, Side Mohammed Ben Youssef, was said to have abdicated in favor of his second son, Prince Moulay Abdullah. Warns of Icebox Deaths WASHINGTON. D. C, Aug. 15. A spokesman for the refrigeration industry warned today that abandoned refrigerators will take a heavy toll of child lives in the next several years unless certain simple preventive methods are universally adopted. Reveal More Escapees WASHINGTON, D. C, Aug. 15. The Defense Department today made public the names of 33 more of the 147 Americans claimed by their Communist captors to have "escaped" from Red prison camps in Korea. The department, which previously identified 36, emphasized that in no case have the Communist reports been verified and that not one of the men listed ever has returned to United Nations lines.
