Beard, Wack, Combs Named ATBA Board of Trustees SARATOGA, Saratoga Springs, N, Y.t Aug. 15. At a meeting held here of the American Thoroughbred Breeders Association, Walter M. Jeffords, George D. Wide-ner and Hal Price Headley withdrew from the board of trustees and were replaced by Clarkson Beard, John De Blois Wack and Leslie Combs n. A committee is to be appointed to study and act upon new applications for membership. It was decided also to cooperate with the National Livestock Tax Committee, a group of cattlemen and wool growers, to study matters of taxation. It was pointed out that this is a fact-finding body and in no sense a lobby. The association will also study a proposal to suggest a quarantine in this country for horses destined for Australia whose laws demand a six months quarantine for horses entering that country from everywhere except England. This problem concerns also any equestrian team from this country competing in the Olympic games in 1956. gatm
