Dozen Colorado H. S. Seniors Get Scholarships 00 Grants Made by Centennia Foundation From Racing Funds LITTLETON, Colo., June 7. — Twelve Colorado high school graduates were named today as winners of 00 one-year college scholarships, awarded by the Centennial Foundation, Inc., charitable or-1 ganization of Centennial Turf Club, Inc., at Littleton. Final selection from the several hundred applications was made by a screening panel consisting of Judge Philip B. Gil- j liam, Denver, ex-Governor Dan Thornton,! Gunnison, and T. J. Tynan, Denver. The good news to the 12 winners was dispatched by Charles O Toole, president of the Foundation. The scholarships may be used at any institution of higher learning in the state, choice to be made by each winner. County agents from every county in the state worked in close cooperation with all Colorado high school principals in handling the applications. The 12 winners, six boys and six girls, are as follows: Paul Nathaniel Anderson, 675 Park Ave., Fort Collins; Earl Gawain Colglazier, Holyoke; Dorothy Lou Dowen, Kt. 4, Box 342, Pueblo; Kenneth Hartman, P. O. Box 5, Longmont; Barbara Marie Hinkle, McClave; Mary Ellen Huebner, Rt. 2, Box 115, Arvada; James Donald Johnson, R. R. 1, Box 76, Greeley; Rodney Rockwell, Rt. 2, Box 137, Pueblo; Judith Claudine Sherwin, Sterling; Donald Miller Steerman, Dolores; Leona Stultz, Rt. 1, Box 148, Canon City; Ruth Joan Zanger, 127 Swope Street, Colorado Springs. Officers of Centennial Foundation, Inc., are: president, Charles OToole, Denver vice-president, W. D. Farr, Greeley; secretary, Richard Simon, Englewood; treasurer, Isadore Samuels, Denver. Directors are: Frank Ricketson, Jr., Denver; Walter Walker, Grand Junction; Harold Gray, Brush, and the officers.
