F.~€hristmas; bred by Mrs. J Purdev IN GATE— 5:21. OFF AT 5:21 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. BLAZING HOME, always within easy striking distance forged to the front when shaken nearing the furlong marker and in a long drive retained a clear advantage over MORDIGAN. The latter, slow to attain best stride, attempted to lug in slightly when guided to the outside for the stretch run and was unable to overtake the leader. WINNING FLEET, forced to take up slightly when in close quarters during the early stretch run, closed determinedly when clear. DUSTY DRIVE tired. OPEN AND SHUT-steadily improved his position between horses around the turn to gain closer contention entering the stretch, then failed to respond when set down for the final test. TEDS JEEP gave way suddenly inside the Ifurlong marker. SEMOLINA was outrun. SWEET WENDY G. raced wide. HOT PURSUIT was through after six furlongs. COUNT CAIN retired steadily after possessing brief speed. Scratched— 504322 Dry Vermouth, 111; 49406 Virginian, 116. Open and Shut claimed by G. Gay.
