Chicagoan Likely To Be Open Race Traffic Judge, Nances Lad And Honeys Alibi Nominated For 0,000 Balmoral Stake WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, HI., June 7. — A wide-open field of three-year-old stars will parade postward for the Chicagoan, 0,000 added mile test carded for Saturday, June 18, closing-day feature of the new Balmoral Jockey Club meeting. This was apparent in racing secretary Frederick G. "Pat" Farrells announcement that nominations to the sophomore feature include such, leading three-year-olds as" Clifford Mooers Traffic Judge, H. A. Dabsons Nances Lad, and W L Ranch Co.s Honeys Alibi, among others. The trio of invaders will challenge the local runner, Dixianas Make Ready, an improving colt who already has accounted for two mile events at Washington Park. In both efforts the Dixiana representative showed a tendency to come from behind in overhauling such fine colts as Top Traffic and Munchausen. Also Ran Second in Withers Nances Lad is a four-time stakes winner this year. He won the Hutcheson and Fountain of Youth Handicaps at Gulf-stream and the Swift and Peter Pan at Belmont. It was in the Swift Stakes that Nances Lad dealt the then undefeated Boston Doge his lone setback. Nances Lad also shows a second in. the Withers, Belmonts mile feature, and his conqueror in that one, Traffic Judge, also is considered a definite starter in the Chicagoan. Traffic Judge was third in the Preakness Stakes behind Nashua and Saratoga. Another ranking colt already stabled on the grounds is Honeys Alibi, who won the Preakness Prep in convincing style before going unplaced in the Pimlico classic. Other top-level three-year-olds pointing for the Chicagoan are Harvey Fruehaufs mudder-Deluxe, Blue Lem, second in the Florida Derby; C. F. Morriss Munchausen, third in the Blue Grass Stakes and allowance winner at Balmoral; Duntreath Farms Fleet Path, G. R. Whites Arkansas Derby victor, Trim Destiny, and the Hasty House Farm trio of Prince Noor, winner of the Everglades this winter, Alibilt, and the Irish-bred Summer Solstice. Summer Solstice, who recently won his American racing debut, spearheads a formidable foreign-bred contingent to the Chicagoan, which also includes Sand Hill Farms Daylight Express, Maine Chance Farms Queens Guard, and Mrs. Joseph Tomlinsons Ballydonnell.
