MELS GLORY shook off HY APACHE after going half the distance and easily drew away in the stretch to win in hand. ANNJOWETT dropped back after breaking well, but came strongly through the stretch. MOTORAMIC was always a good contender in a steady effort. JOLLY WELL was also fairly well up throughout. HY APACHE had early speed, but tired. ACE TALON raced wide and was not dangerous. The latter was fairly well up .from the start and finished strongly. HARDWICKE raced on the outside to move to .contention and, taking command at midstretch, had enough left to hold PLAYOFF. The latter was prominent early and then dropped back, but despite a loose bandage came again in the last sixteenth and might have won in a few more strides. HEDGEWOOD MISS was in close quarters while attempting td find an opening next to the rail after entering the stretch and was taken up, then came to the outside to finish fast and might have been best. PENNY FORTUNE weakened near the end. MR. PRESIDENT faltered after making a mild move. FLYING FIRST tired badly after going a half mile. BEADAH was close to the pace to the stretch, then moved up to catch ERRARD QUEEN a furlong out and drew away under pressure near the end. LITTLE PACHE dropped back after beraking well, but came again in the stretch. GRECIAN AYR moved up nearing the stretch turn and, after dropping back slightly rounding the tum, came again in the middle of the track to challenge, but faltered in the- final drive.
