Craig Pilots Two More Winners at Fort Miami FORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, May 14.— Sudden showers spoiled the first ladies day of the meeting, but 1,523 fans turned out under lowering skies to view the waning season of racing at Fort Miami. Leading rider, Howard Craig, widened his lead in the jockey race to 39 winners with a pair of longshot winners which delighted the feminine handicappers in the crowd. Craigs winners were Invasion Boy in the first race, who paid 9.00, and Rowbottom, in the fourth, which paid 9.80. Rowbottom defeated the odds-on Reade Castle, who was held at 3 to 5 in the wagering, but failed to live up to his backing. Rowbottom was racing for his owner and trainer, L. D. "Long Distance" Moore, who picked up his first purse of the meeting. The favorites fared no better in the other races of the afternoon as Discomfort and Your Sun accounted for the third and fifth races as second choices and Sir Gallaquin departed from the maiden ranks after nine years of fruitless campaigning, in the second event.
