t LEXINGTON TURF NOTES o $ E. J. Tranter, president of the Fasig-Tip-ton Company, was here Monday making preliminary arrangements for the sale of thoroughbreds to be held at the Lexington Sales Paddock, Thursday, May 2, when the horses owned by the estate of Maj. T. C. McDowell will be dispersed. Entries for the sale will be accepted until April 12, Mr. Tranter announced. A carload of horses arrived from Tropical Park Monday morning, including ten head which Howard Wells has been campaigning, three head owned by R. W. Collins, and two the property of the Shandon Farm. In a car which Fred Zink dispatched for Bowie Monday morning were seven head belonging to Bomar Stable, one for the Shandon Farm Stable, and one for Sherrill Ward. J. J. "Bud" Greely, Jr., took six head to Louisville.
