L BOWIE TURF NOTES s e Ex-jockey Pete Walls made his Maryland debut as an owner when he brought in two horses from Florida. Jennings Smallwood and Toney Pedone of Baltimore, arrivals from Florida, are making riding engagements for Joe Renick and C. Phillips, respectively. George Burke is .here with Silvio Coucci, contract rider for the Greentree Stable. Edward Swelter, who has been schooling horses for the past week, reports over 350 at the barrier during the past six days. Schooling hours are from 8 to 9:30 a. m. daily. "Bones" Ingersoll, former rider, drove in from Florida. He is handling jockeys J. Burrill and H. Faust. The last named is under contract to Frank Christmas of Upper Marlboro. "Sonny" Workman, contract rider for C. V. Whitney, wired from Lexington, Ky., that he j wont be here until next week, due to trainer T. J. Healey deciding to remain at the farm for another week. "Pinkey" Kandell of Baltimore, presented Mrs. Kandell with the filly Bye Bye Mary, winner at Tropical Park. The occasion was the eighth anniversary of the .couples marriage. Pat Brady will continue as trainer.
