DATES FOR STEEPLECHASES When Jumping Stakes and Overnight Handicap Through Field Will Be Run at Belmont Park. NEW YORK, N. Y., April 2. Frank J. Bryan, -general steeplechase racing secretary for all New York tracks this year, today announced the schedule of jumping events at Belmont Park. During the twenty-two day spring meeting, which opens May 15 and runs to June 8, nineteen contests through the field, including four stakes, will be run. conditions are drawn to provide -oppor-unities ??he for all classes of fencers. Nominations for the stakes close next Monday. All the other chases are overnight events. The values of the overnight steeplechases are 1,000 and ,200, while the values of the stakes are ,500 and ,500. The latter, with running dates, are as follows: May 18 International Steeplechase Handicap, ,500 added; four-year-olds and upward, about two miles. May 25 Charles L. Appleton Memorial Cup Steeplechase, ,500 added, four-year-olds and upward, about two miles. May 31 Corinthian Steeplechase Handicap, ,500 added; four-year-olds and upward, about two miles. June 8 Meadowbrook Steeplechase Handicap, ,500 added, four-year-olds and upward, about two and a half miles. AH for four-year-olds and upward, conditions of the overnight steeplechases are as follows: May 15 Filon DOr Selling Purse, ,000, about two miles. May 16 Land of Clover, non-winners of 00 or more than three races since September 1, 1934, purse ,000, about two miles. May 17 Helpful, maidens, purse ,000, about two miles. May 21 Weldship, non-winners of ,500 or more than three races in 1934-1935, purse ,000, about two miles. May 22 Iollan Selling Handicap, purse ,200, selling price ,500; entries close May 20; about two and one-quarter miles. May 23 Coligny Purse, ,000, about two miles. May 24 Expectation, maidens, purse ,000, about two miles. May 27 Carabinier, maidens and winners of one race, purse ,000, about two miles. May 29 Jolly Roger Handicap, non-winners of ,000 or more than three races of a value exceeding 00 in 1934-1935; purse ,200, about two miles. May 30 Faskadale Selling, non-winners of 00 or more than three races in 1934-1935, about two miles.
