Bred, in Ireland by L. Ball. Reynoldstown, well up from the start and jumping cleanly, took the lead at the twenty-fourth fence, lost it to Thomond II. at the final obstacle, but drew away handily in the run to the finish. Blue Prince was in the thick of the struggle from the start and. easily took the place. Thomond II. ran a good race under the weight, but tired after assuming; the lead near the final jump. Lazy Boots was well up most of .the way and jumped cleanly, though no match for the first three. Uncle Batt showed early speed and hung on gamely after striking one of the obstacles. Bachelor Prince lacked high speed but jumped cleanly. Castle Irwell was well up with all the pace and was in a contending position when he went down at Valentines Brook the second time around. Royal Ransom, Alexina and Emancipator showed high early foot before meeting with mishaps. Golden Miller was racing in second place when he went down at the tenth obstacle. Topinois was never dangerous.
