LOOKABOUT, quickest to begin, drew clear in the opening eighth, was steadied rounding the turn, then, diew out steadily when straightened into the stretch to win with speed in reserve. FESTOON, away well, but forced to race very wide in the early stages, responded to pressure in the final eighth and easily disposed of PATSEY BEGONE. The latter moved into contention rapidly on the outside rounding the turn, but fajtered in the stretch run. SMALL DEVIL, prominent and saving ground the entire trip, held on stoutly in the final drive. TIME LIGHT, away slowly, closed a big gap. ACAUTAW, fractious at the post broke alertly, set an even pace while racing on the outside in the arly stages, then, responding courageously under punishment, drew clear in the stretch run. SISOWEN moved up fast on the inside in the run down the back stretch and, saving the most ground the entire trip, outlasted MAD BETH in the final drive. MAD BETH, prominent all the way, held on gamely under punishment in the last eighth. PRINCE POMPEY, hard urged all the way, closed stoutly in the stretch run. BROADSWORD broke .forwardly, but dropped out of contention rounding the turn, saved ground entering the stretch and was gaining steadily at the finish. SPARKY, away forwardly, gradually improved her position on the extreme outside of the leaders in the early running, assumed command in the stretch when called upon and outlasted BRAINS when the final issue came. BRAIN, off slowly, worked his way forward steadily in the first half mile, came to the outside entering the stretch and, closing gamely under punishment, was wearing down the winner in the final strides. DONA DULCIN broke in stride and displayed good speed racing PRINCE DRAKE into defeat in the early stages, responded gamely under punishment when challenged, but faltered in the closing strides. SUN ABBOT and MADDENING broke very slowly, both closed big gaps and were going fastest of all at the finish. PRINCE DRAKE retired after going a half mile.
