1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES 3 ; Three of the seven head H. K. Barron has here for various owners are Three Ds Stock Farm bred. They are Good Scout,- Range Boss and Flikerry. Others Barron brought from Hot Springs are Sergeant Hill, Royal Link and Gypsy Jane. The firing irons will be applied to Sergeant Hills ankles and he will be rested until late in the summer. Sarada, one of the leading three-year-olds of 1933, heads the small stable W- R- Seam-ster has here for F. A. Griffith, New York sportsman. Others are Cutie Face, Heedless Gal, Palasa and Oscillation. George Leeds stated Monday morning that Jake Freedmans Dark Conquest came out of his Fort Worth Handicap engagement badly lamed in his left foreleg. John Oros arrived from Hot Springs with ten head, but he could find stable room at Arlington Downs only for Stroll Along, Dark Vision, Peggy J., Damascene, Wise Eddie and Gibbys-Choice. Snorky, Hair Trigger, Pompohone and Adelaide A., were vanned to Fair Park, Dallas. Tobe Deahl arrived from Hot Springs with Indian Boy, Click and Barney Keen. Jockey Robert Tilden checked in from the Vapor City and immediately made application for a license. H. B. Ward, one of the inspectors of the Texas Racing Commission, received word that he had been appointed steward to represent the commission at the Sequin meeting which commences Thursday. William Wallace, a pupil of the late Byron McClelland and considered one of the leading trainers of the country, was receiving praises Tuesday over the manner in which he brought imported Quatre Bras II. back to competition. The son of Teddy suffered a quarter crack in his last race last April. When Wallace took over the training of the Three Ds Stable last fall he asked permission to go along slowly with the full brother to Sir Gallahad III. and Bull Dog. That Quatre Bras II. was trained in superb fashion was demonstrated when he won the Texas Hotel Handicap at first asking and came out of his race in sound condition. Charles J. McLennan, who will serve as racing secretary at Washington Park, received stake blanks for that thirty-one-day meeting. The 5,000 added American Derby tops the seven stakes with the six others carrying ,000 each in added money, McLennan leaves here Saturday for Baltimore, where he will make preliminary preparations for the Havre de Grace meeting. At the close of that season McLennan goes to Chicago for the Washington and Arlington Park meetings. F. J. Grand arrived from Hot Springs with Chiefs Pride, Just High, Morning Cry, Le Flore, Justice B., Clinton, Lady Mary and The Trainer. As Grand could only find quarters for four horses at Arlington Downs, the others were vanned to Fair Park, Dallas. W. A. Williams unloaded Master Buck, Just Ormont and Defier. They came from Hot Springs. Master Buck is eligible for the Juvenile Stakes. Charles Houbre unloaded Playmaster, Too Busy, Dustana and Dame Grundy at Fair Park. They came from Oaklawn Park. G. Callahan, a- brother of jockey H. Callahan, vanned Miss Laredo, Ben Ali and Ray-leen from Alamo Downs. Nominations for the Dallas Handicap, the second of the three ,000 added features to be offered during the Arlington Downs season, close Wednesday. The Dallas, which will have its decision at one mile and a furlong, will top Saturdays program. Jockey Charles Landolt is an arrival from Miami. He will ride free lance. Jack London is making the engagements of the good lightweight rider, F. A. Smith, while George Swain is acting in a like capacity for L. Balaski, and Leo Sylvester is handling J. L. Smith, a newcomer recently introduced by C. N. Mooney. Mrs. W. T. Waggoner H., who rarely misses a single day at Arlington Downs, will entertain sixteen guests Wednesday at luncheon in the jockey club dining room. Included in the group will be Mrs. A. B. Wharton, Jr., who will present the floral trophy to the owner of the horse winning the El Ranchito Handicap. Mrs. Waggoner will represent the Texas Jockey Club in presenting the trophy to the owner of the horse winning the Juvenile Stakes.
