PREPARING AT BEULAH PARK Stands, Barns and Other Buildings Being Painted for Spring Meet-"ing Opening on May 11. COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 2. Not gray skies, but freshly painted gray barns will greet the eyes of the horsemen that ship to Grove City during the month of April and early in May for the spring meeting at Beu-lah Park. The Grove City plant is undergoing a touching up such as it has not had in several years, following out the plan of H. D. Shepard to make it one of the most attractive of the smaller tracks. Some of the barns at Beulah are noted more for their completeness and safety than for their beauty, as a number of years ago much more money was spent on quarters for the horses than stands for the patrons, but the better barns are behind the grove back of the grandstand and are never observed by visitors. Thpse that are in view are receiving a new dress. There are other indications that the Beulah Park Jockey Club is expecting a far more representative class of horsemen and horses this spring than ever before, The recent announcement that a Bahr gate would be installed brought in several applications for stable room from owners who had not intended racing at Beulah but for this. The spring meeting will begin May 11, closing June 1. These are the first Ohio dates announced.
