FEMININE OWNERS DOMINATE Trio of Women at Top of Jamaica Money Winners List. Count Arthur Wins Continental Handicap and First Place Among Horses-Cooper and Stout Tied. A fairly even distribution of prize money was one of the features of the recent twelve-day meeting at Jamaica, Mrs. E. D. Jacobs winning the largest slice of the 3,200 disbursed but many other owners sharing In the awards to the extent of one or more purses. The daily average distribution was ,766.67 and, while Mrs. Jacobs horses won ,115, her total was just above one days disbursement, indicating the general sharing of prizes by other owners. Opening on October 5, Jamaica closed on October 17 after staging seventy-eight races, five of them stakes. Mrs. John Hertz string won ,705, and Mrs. M. Cassidys colorbearers took ,905, to stage a clean sweep for feminine owners of the three leading positions on the money-winning owners list Count Arthur, Hertz campaigner, won tho Continental Handicap, the most valuable race of the meeting, worth ,910, and the one victory gave him money-winning" honors among the horses. Bill Farnsworth was next, with ,905, the Cassidy racer taking the Interborough Handicap. Polycletus, Clo-dion and Jesting were the other stake winners. Jockey honors were shared by A. Cooper and J. Stout with Cooper having the best of it in percentage, riding about one-fourth, of his mounts to victory. Hirsch Jacobs, Brooklyn horseman, was the leading trainer.
