LOVE POTION, prominently placed from the start, followed in closest pursuit of the winner throughout. BLACK TIMBER was well up all the way, but was never in a position to endanger the first two. MAURICE G.. away slowly and badly outrun for the first half mile, closed an immense gap thereafter. FLAMING BELLE was unable to enter into contention. PIPERS TUNE was outrun. EYELASHES quit. GOOD DAME raced to the front immediately, drew away into a long lead and was never menaced, winning with speed in reserve. ITSIE BITSIE, in closest pursuit of the leader throughout, was doing his utmost to hold BRIGHT DON safe. The latter, under hard urging in an effort to keep up early, came with cood courage through the stretch run. JESSIE V. L. was unable to reach the leaders, but was well placed throughout. ZOWIE was under pressure in order to maintain a forward position, then faltered in the closing eighth. REDLEY lacked speed and was far back the entire trip. EARLY CALL was outrun. The latter, under steady restraint until rounding the far turn, wore down ROYAL BROOM for the lead and, holding on gamely, just failed to hit. MISS LEANNAII forced the early pace, had to take up leaving the back stretch and, though finishing xillincly, was unable to reach the leaders. SANGREAL was slow in settling into his best stride and raced far back for three-eighths, after which he began moving up gradually thereafter and closed with good energy on the outside through the stretch and was up in the final few strides. ALL FORLORN had speed from the start, wore down PATRIOTIC for the lead, but was unable to withstand the closing challenge of the winner. PATRIOTIC displayed speed from, the start and held on willingly to the close after having saved all possible ground. TREY was well placed early and was unable to make up any ground when placed under urging. SANDY BOOT came with a belated bid through the last eighth. BRENDARD was unable to reach the leaders. PADDYS SISTER was started from outside of thc stalls, dwelt slightly when the start came, improved her position gradually and turned in a sparkling performance. SECURED closed a good gap in the final quarter mile. CUSTER moved up threateningly on the inside after leaving the back stretch, but was unable to make up any ground when placed under pressure. SILVERY WAY tired in thc last three-sixteenths. CATCHALL was bumped badly leaving thc back stretch and had to be taken up. He was unable to recover. EDRI and MISS TAD quit. PLAYMORE was restrained for three-quarters, moved up steadily and held on gamely in thc closing drive. THREATENING in closest pursuit of the pace early, continued willingly to the end, though unable to improve his position when placed under pressure. PISH TUSH was never able to reach the leaders. R.
