Bob McGarvey is bringing in the main division of the Milky Way Farm Stable from New York. Meanwhile the home of the Kentucky Derby is being freshened up after a summer of inactivity. The racing strip, while a bit deep, is near its best and Sunday nights and Monday mornings steady drizzle was expected to.put it in excellent condition. Col. M. J. Winn, director, is attending to the official details of the meeting, and E. A. Wiedekamp, supervisor of mutuels, has his crew getting that department in order. Mr. Wiedekamp is also directing the installation of the moving camera which will be used to decide finishes during the meeting. Tests were held Monday, and Mr. Wiedekamp placed his approval on the type of lens to be used. The club has spent thousands of dollars improving this apparatus and is leaving no stone unturned in an effort to achieve perfection. Books for the seven-day meeting have been distributed and met with instant approval of the horsemen already gathered here. As one trainer put it, "I have only eight horses, but there is not a day I will not be able to run at least two, if not more horses."
