t NARRAGANSETT TURF NOTES " s Apprentice E. Tucker departed for Laurel to report back to his contract employer F A. Carreaud. Bobby Merritt will ride for the Araho Stable throughout the fall meeting. Jimmy Hunter has been released by the Araho Stable and will remain here to ride free lance. Local hopes in the Futurity will be carried by B. F. Listers Gala Star, which ran a creditable race Saturday behind Mary Elise and Jewell Dorsett W. G. Jackson has been engaged to ride. Ray Pollard will ship his string to Arlington Downs at the close of the present meet-" ing. Jockey "Red" Howell will accompany the stable to do the riding in Texas. R. E. Leslie, an alderman from Toronto shipped in three head, Boscobel, Crinoline and Rights End under the care of trainer Higgins. Wally Leishman, a younger brother of Ted Leishman, who formerly rode with much success, has ridden eighteen winners since his first at Rockingham last September 29. The boy is under contract to Edward Jetn bins, of Eureka, Calif. Shepherd Boy threw a shoe in the running of the first race Saturday. Jockey Alfred Robertson is back from Laurel, where Saturday he rode the winner of the Selima, Talma Dee. Robertson rides Dogaway in the Futurity. Charlie Stevenson returned from Laurel and states thta Apogee "had no chance in the Selima, being shut off right at the start
