DALLAS CENTENNIAL DAY r Arlington Downs Management Plans Big Celebration on Saturday, October 31. ARLINGTON, Texas, Oct 26. With the Inaugural and West Texas Handicaps run 1 off, the Texas Jockey Club is planning for. a L gala day Saturday, October 31, when the ,500 added Dallas Centennial Handicap will J be decided over a mile and a sixteenth at Arlington Downs. More than twenty-four topnotchers now at Arlington Downs were i named. Nominations were scheduled to close at midnight and it is predicted that this stake, one of the stellar attractions of the meeting at the Waggoner plant, will feature . a worthy and representative field. . Frank Gilpin has named E. F. Seagrams i sturdy Ceaseless and J. C. Palmers Rosselli, , for the stake and the King Ranch, through trainer Max Hirsch, sent in Split Second, and the aopearance of the Sortie filly undoubtedly will prove a thrill for southwestern turf enthusiasts. Also named are Spur Flower, J. Shirley Rileys standard bearer; G. B. Scallons Short Skirt, Norman Hernandez Combahec, Ed Haughtons Cascapedia and Swamp Angel, W. C. Goodloes Seventh" Heaven, E. R. Fains Denver Lad, J. W. Cohens Speech, A. "Tony" Pelleteris Saver-nalce, Mrs. Leo J. Remms Blue Train, Motor ! City Stables Appealing and C. E. Davisons crack Pharosay. Others nominated early include Infidox, Porcellus, Lunsford, Fra Diavolo, Faust, Corum, Jaber, Judge Kav-anagh and Bercit Attaches of the club anticipating a break In the weather, are commencing elaborate plans for the observance of Dallas Day. All races on the card next Saturday in addition to the Centennial event will be dedicated to Dallas organizations and society en masse is expected to turn out as always when Dallas Day is celebrated at Arlington Downs. Special trains from Dallas that day will ; be augmented and the bus companies are j planning to add additional conveyances for the convenience of the large crowd expected, j I Tables will be placed on the mezzanine j j I promenade and under the clubhouse in addition to the regular. Many reservations already have been received by the Wilken Brothers and Ben Koppel, in charge of the cuisine for the Texas Jockey Club. A special section of the stand is to be reserved, and tickets for this section will be placed on sale at the Dallas agency several days in advance of Dallas Day.
