Won easily: second and third driving. THE NILE forced the pace for a quarter, took command thereafter without need of strong urging, drew out and had something left. DOMINANT STAR had good speed from the start, gave way readily to the winner and then tired sliehlly in the closing stages, but withstood PRAIRIE KING. The latter, never far back and on the outside, closed eamely when put to strong pressure. EARLY DAWN, outrun for a quarter, BEY broke fast, but dropped out of contention worked her way up gradually and finished gamely. LAP IAIN JEFFERS had good speed for a half mile, was in close quarters while tiring on the stretch tum, then held on fairly well when straightened. LOVEY LYONS improved her position gradually on the outside and finished gamely. EASTERN RULER showed brief early speed and pulled up lame. COUNTESS RtlUH, away fast, raced wide on the first turn at the loss of much ground, moved up again when straightened and then hung in the final sixteenth. The latter, away fast but unable to draw into a clear lead, was taken in hand when outrun but finished gamely when strongly urged through the final quarter. MY BETTY, well up from the start and on the outside, held on well in her even effort. CARUS broke in the air, gradually improved her position after settling into stride and then, taken to the outside for the drive, finished courageously. SCREAM was through after about five-eighths.
