I DETROIT TURF NOTES 1| $ 1 Jockey R. Howell returned to New York tonight but hopes to be back in time to accept mounts on Tuesday. Mrs. A. M. Creech came over from Chicago to witness Grey Streak carry her colors in the Inaugural Handicap. The horse was shipped to Lincoln Fields tonight. During the absence of W. E. Kelly, who is remaining at River Downs until the close of that meeting, Wm. Hudson is in charge of the jockey quarters. Jockey Hilton Dabson arrived from Maryland and reported to F. Ray, trainer of the Mrs. T. Stevenson horses. George Wingfield arrived from River Downs and Frank Otis checked in from Aurora. Jockey Joe Rosen came from Suffolk Downs and will ride free lance. L. C. Pike vanned Hill Jimmy and Big Mum from River Downs and Vein Cloud came in from the same point with Take Charge. From Beulah Park, C. A. Valentine brought War Poise, Upset Dove, Osa Ad-kins, Bellmore, Prima Wish, and My Dolly Dean, and from the same track Robert Ward came with Pokey Girl, Cecil B., Jean Andrews and Half Shoes. J. G. McAtee, widely known Kentucky owner, is invading Detroit for the first time. He brought Corner Boy, Miss Wise, Joe Bur-man, Maid Marie, Serenata Maid, and My Gretchen from Louisville.
