JUVENILE FIXTURE IS FINALE Bashford Manor Heads Churchill Downs Getaway Day Program. Memorial Day Card Winds Up Derby Meeting at Famous Louisville Track— Thirteen Named. LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 28.— Spring racing at the historic Churchill Downs, notable for the Kentucky Derby and other old but less famed turf features comes to a close on Monday, Memorial Day, when a sparkling program topped by the Thirty-seventh Running of the ,000 added Bashford Manor Stakes for two-year-olds will be run. The holiday finale will draw the curtain on a season of twenty-two days during which the sport has enjoyed a full measure of success. Large crowds have turned out for all of the more important programs, the attendance on Derby Day establishing a record and good racing rewarding them for their interest. With favorable weather prevailing, a throng second only to that which saw Lawrin add his name to the list of winners of the Kentucky Derby is expected to see the Bashford Manor Stakes and other Decoration Day events decided. Besides the Bashford Manor, the final program includes the Memorial Day Handicap and the Crescent Hill Golf Club Purse. The feature will be decided over five furlongs. GREENTREE ENTRY CHOICE. Thirteen colts, geldings and fillies have been named for the Bashford Manor, the quality and representatives of the array measuring up to high standards that have prevailed since the race was inaugurated back in 1902. Of three stables represented by two candidates, that of Mrs. Payne Whitney, Eastern patron who has never won the fixtures, was expected to rule favorite. Her colors will be carried by Third Degree and Cherry Jam, two extremely fast youngsters. The Woolford Farm of H. M. Woolf , named Unerring and Inscoelda while E. F. Woodwards Valdina Farms is starting Wafer or Viscounty or both. These combinations also are highly regarded and with the same holding for A. L. Fergusons Steady Don and J. N. Camdens Royal Pam. Other eligibles are W. H. Whitehouses American Byrd, H. P. Headleys Airacuda and Hello Cap, the entry of J. G. Brown. The renewal may result in one of the most interesting contests in the history of the prize. J. W. Bells Steel Heels and G. C. Scotts Blue Star complete the field as drawn today.
