HIGH PLACE showed speed while racing through on the outside, was roused sharply when she tried to bear in in the final eighth, and held on well. OTRA. in nearest pursuit of the pace from the start, responded when urged and held on well. COUNORA was placed under pressure in the final eighth, but could not menace the leaders. RIDEAWAY jumped well and was under steady restraint from the start, improved his position when urged through the final half mile, disposed of SANTI QUARANTI at the final fence, and drew away. The latter jumped well and showed speed on the flat, was rated along steadily and held on well. MASKED KNIGHT was taken back under restraint when outrun, but failed to menace the leaders when urged. SPINACH was kept close up from the start, but faltered steadily in the final eighth. FLYING FALCON had no mishaps. FLYING FEATHERS quit badly and was not persevered with. JEWELL DORSETT was in close quarters in the early running and closed with a rush on the outside. STROLLING BY made up ground steadily from a slow beginning. CHANCEVIEW closed with good courage. ANEROID showed speed from the start, was taken under restraint when outrun, came again entering the stretch, but faltered from his early efforts. MASKED GENERAL was close up, made a determined bid turning for homo and then quit badly. STRABO was outrun to the final sixteenth. SEMAPHORE raced in near pursuit of the pace from the start, disposed of JUDGES VERDICT rounding the far turn, saved ground and held on well. GENERAL PARTH, under steady restraint to the far turn, moved up fast on the outside, then made a determined bid in the stretch run, but hung at the finish. JUDGES VERDICT was sent into command at the start, showed speed and had no mishaps. GAY DOG raced well the first part. DARK PRINCE and FLYING CENTAUR had no mishaps. COLONEL JOE, fractious at the post and away slowly, began to move up approaching the stretch, but tired in the late stages.
