ANDOLINO SILKS IN DOUBLE J Gay Balko Takes Main Event at Agawam, With Guy Fawkes Big Disappointment to the Fans. SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 28.— Approximately 20,000 wildly cheering racing enthusiasts of western Massachusetts saw the colors of Paul Andolino carried to victory in two of the principal events of the inaugural program at Agawam Park this afternoon. Topping the double-barrelled victory was Gay Balkos triumph in the Agawam Inaugural Handicap, a dash of five and a half furlongs, in which the four-year-old chestnut colt soundly trounced eight other crack sprinters. Bright and Early finished second, three lengths in the wake of the winner, and a nose ahead of Woof. The popularity of Guy Fawkes with racing fans of this sector was evident in the wagering on the outcome of the sixth event, in which A. C. Norris brown colt was established an even-money choice, despite the fact that this marked his first appearance under colors in nearly a year. Guy Fawkes, after displaying a brief burst of speed, tired, and finished in last place, proving a shocking disappointment to his legion of followers. Following close behind the victory of Chancer in the fifth race, Glen Smith and Gay Balko proved much the best of the band that made up the field in the sixth event.
