FLYING BONNY, much the best, but away to a slow start, made up ground rapidly on the outside after the first quarter, drew out in the final quarter to win with something left. AMARANTH improved her position gradually while racing on the outside, but could not threaten the winner. NOB began swiftly, set the early pace under pressure and tired in the drive. EASTER THORN improved his position slowly under strenuous uiimz. GRISETTE, away well, forced the pace for thrae-eighths, then gave way under urging. BRAVE HEART could ont keep up. SHALAKO. taken in hand soon after the start, but never far back, responded readily to vigorous urging in the last three eighths, got through on the inside in the last quarter and wore down MEMOIRS in the last few str: les. The latter, rated close to the pace for five eighths, took command with a rush thereafter, continued gamely, but could not withstand the winner. WOODWAAC lost ground going around horses while improving his position and faltered in the drive. DOUG BRASHEAR lacked early speed. BRUNETA forced the pice for three-quarters, then tired. The latter, never far back and strenuously shaken up in the last quarter, showed a good effort. LADY PEG was prominent for the entire trip and held on with good courage under urging. TOWN CAR bore out in the final quarter when tirine. TAXI had no excuse. KINKI bean slnwlv and dosed a good gap in the final quarter. SUN ANTIOCH, close up throughout, lost ground entering the stretch but closed gamely. ELDEE worked her way between horses while improving her position and closed fast. WRENACE was fractious at the gate, broke slowly and never proved a factor. FREE AGAIN, hard hustled from the break, gave way after a half mite. GAY BALKO, rated close to the pace for three-eighths, came between horses at the stretch turn, improved his position rapidly under mild urging and drew out in the last sixteenth to win with something left. BRIGHT AND EARLY was in motion at the start, set the early pace and, under pressure, saved ground and held on with good courage, but was no match for the winner. WOOF, away well and hard hustled throughout, assumed a slight lead after going a quarter, but was unable to retain her advantage. UPSIDE DOWN closed gamely under vigorous handling. ME O MY was forced to race wide. GUY FAWKES began slowly, moved up to the leaders with a rush in the opening quarter, but tired badly in the last quarter. The latter forced the pace throughout and continued with fine courage to the end. INFILEE was forced wide while working her way up and closed strongly. PRINCE DEAN began slowly and made up some ground in the final quarter. SUGABOOT saved ground throughout and closed gamely. SANDWRACK began sluggishly and closed a big gap in the last three-eighths. MAKEIT, never far out of it and reserved to the final quarter, responded gamely to strong urging thereafter and wore down the leaders in the final sixteenth. DUNRITA, prominent throughout, assumed a slight lead when straightened out in the stretch, but could not hold his advantage. DURWRACK broke I rapidly, dropped back soon thereafter and worked his way forward between horses. PONIARD was much used in the first three-quarters and tired under pressure. GOLDEN X. showed a good effort. GOLD CROSS had speed for three-quarters, then gave way rapidly. ATONEMENT II. had brief early speed.
