■ ■ WOODBINE PARK NOTES T Q £ The meeting of the Thoroughbred Breed- j ers Association held at the King Edward j Hotel on Thursday night approved the scale weights as published by the Independent . Canadian Racing Association. They also instructed their directors to request the i I various racing secretaries in the province ■ to write conditions of races so that the cheaper grade of horses will not be required to carry excessive weight. Racing Secretary R. S. Shelley departs for Winnipeg following the close of Woodbine Park. He will take charge of the first j twenty-eight days of racing in that city and then return to Narragansett. J. Hazza plans to ship his string to Winnipeg for the opening of the racing at that point. Jockey R. Duggan has joined the ! stable and will leave with the shipment. Steeplechase jockey F. McKenna, who was thrown heavily from Pipers Son in the j hurdle event on Thursday, was severely shaken up but escaped serious injury. Jockey E. Mitchell was fined 5 by the 1 stewards for rough riding in the third race Saturday astride Wilfrid G. Ebbie Codner, who is employed as a valet at Woodbine Park and on all tracks in Ontario, suffered a slight stroke while performing his duties Wednesday afternoon. He was removed to the General hospital.
