GREENOCK, taken in hand after a quarter, held his margin safe to the stretch, came away when urged and probably had something left. PAR QUEEN forced the pace from the start, lost ground through the final three eighths, but held on fairly well. ROBERT S., blocked shortly after the start but kept on the inside, rallied only weakly to pressure in the final quarter, but outgamed LUCKY AMELIA The latter raced wide and tired in the late stages. MARGY MIGHT, fractious at the post and away slowlv, worked her way up gradually while on the outside, took command after straightening out in the stretch and, taken to the inside in the final eighth continued well to win with something in reserve. MYRICA, a factor from the start but taken back slightly .*™ J""!*1!* the stretch, rallied to mild urging in the final eighth and was going strongly at the close MISS NADI had speed and saved ground, but tired in the late stages. FOGOSO away slowly and unable to get through while racing on the inside the first three-eighths began to work his way up when clear on the stretch turn, came to the extreme outside in the last three-sixteenths and, finishing resolutely and with good speed, won drawing clear. BAG O WIND displayed keen speed from the start, swerved out sliehtly on the stretch turn and continued well when straightened, but could not hold the w.nner FOUNTAIN HEAD, outrun for a half mile and raced wide, swerved badly when closing boldly and might otherwise have been closer up. FLYING LEE. away slowly and allowed to remain well out of serious contention for about five-eighths, gradually improved her position on the second turn, was forced wide entering the stretch and, holding on gamely in the drive, outstayed JANICE. The latter, close to the pace but under light restraint for almost three quarters, took command while racing wide on the stretch turn and stood a drive with good courage, but was not good enough. FANTINE, well up after the first three-eighths, tired after a mile, but outstayed BIRDLEA. The latter closed well from a slow beeinning. CROSS KEYS tired after showing fine speed to the stretch. LOURDES raced steadily. DRIFT ALONG bore over sharply soon after the start and showed speed in spots, but tired in the stretch. LAST MESSAGE quit. DIXIELAND met light interference. COLONEL ED was under energetic riding from the start and began to tire before reaching the stretch, but the effort may benefit him. ROYAL SORTIE showed a poor effort.
