EVENING TIME was permitted to settle into her best stride and did not begin to work her way to the leaders until rounding from the back stretch, came out into the better going in the stretch and closing stoutly, was up in the last strides. NIGHT CHASE took command at once, drew away into a good lead and, in the deep going next to the rail, just failed to hold on long enough. STOP LIGHT worked his way up steadily and linished well, but was never in a position to endanger the firt two LIBERTY TORCH was unable to enter into serious contention. FLYING VICTORY worked her way up on the outside and came with good energy through the stretch run. FAIR TIME, slow to begin and outrun through the back stretch 5221 up "lth, a Iush ,cn the outside midway of the turn and closed willingly in the last five-sixteenths! MTO.X, well placed early, was unable to close any ground during the stretch run. BELIEVER was unable to keep up. MY BLONDE, under pressure while cutting out the early pace, gave way badly after passing the eighth post. TEETER TOTTER was outrun. PRINCE SADOR, slow to begin and far back for the first half mile, beean giving improved speed when reaching the stretch and, closing with a rush, was along in the last few strides. FAST EXPRESS displayed Speed from the start, was under hard riding to show the way to GOOD ACTOR and held on stubbornly to the close. VICTORIOUS ANN, reserved in pursuit of the pace, moved up on the outside of the early leaders approaching the eighth posf. although unable to close any appreciable amount of ground during the closing sixteenth. GOOD ACTOR showed good speed, was hard ridden throughout, showed in front briefly only to give way during the last thirty yards. GALON BOY was unable to enter into serious contention! EL PUMA was slow to settle into stride, was far back until leaving the back stretch, came to the outMde for the closing test and, closing with a rush, drew out steadily in the last seventy yards BLIND BROOK worked his way up gradually, wore down MANDAS BABY for command, but was down in the deeper going on the inside and was unable to cope with the closing bid of the winner. STORY TIME displayed good speed early, was taken under slight restraint when MANDAS BABY went to the front and, waited with until reaching the stretch, moved up willingly, but was not good enough. THANKSGIVING was steadied in close pursuit of the pace, moved up fast after rounding the far turn, drew clear and into an easy lead and won without serious effort. UPSLALA was forwardly placed all the way and, slightly restrained for the first three quarters, came gamely in the stretch drive. BLIND EAGLE, away slowly and a trailer into the back stretch, had to be roused repeatedly in an effort to improve his position, began to better it in the last three-eighths and finished gamely. DEEP END, hard ridden early while disputing command with BATTLE JACK, forced the latter back nearing the far turn and tired steadily in the last three-sixteenths. BATTLE JACK had speed from the start, was crowded back when on the inside rounding from the back stretch and dropped back steadily. TEDDY WEED was outrun throughout. STAGE BEAUTY tired. BROGAN went to the front in the opening strides, met determined early opposition from MY BUDDY, increased his advantage leaving the back stretch and never was seriously threatened, although ridden out smartly to the close. MISS HOLLYWOOD began 4 improve her position after straightening out on the back stretch and made a game but unavailing bid to reach the winner the entire last three-eighths. AKEHURST, unable to keep the pace early, bore out badly at the stretch turn and, continuing to bear out through the last eighth, finished near the outer rail. MY BUDDY displayed good speed early, but was unable to keep the pace when the real test came. CRUSAND was well placed early but dropped back steadily after reaching the back stretch. PEACEFUL moved up on the outside through the stretch, made a game effort to reach the leader, but was not good enough and barely lasted to hold HIGH TENSION safe. The latter, taken back rounding the first turn, worked his way up gradually the last three-eighths and was going stoutly on the outside of the leaders at the close. LATER ON closed a big gap after racing in the ruck in the back stretch. ERINS SUN trailed. Overweight — Mad Frump. 1 pound. NINTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute.
