STEWARD POST TO J. MILTON SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 28.— Because of the illness of Vincent Treanor, who was to serve as one of the Agawam stewards during the thirty-three-days of racing which got under way here this afternoon, a change in the official personnel of the Agawam Racing and Breeders Association was necessary. E. J. Brennan, managing director of the Springfield course, announced this morning that James Milton, veteran racing official has been engaged to fill the vacancy created by the illness of Treanor and will serve as steward along with Wilmer Brinton and William Ensign and state representative Maurice Metcalf.
