* DETROIT TURF NOTES | $ Nominations for the Belle Isle Handicap and the St. Clair Stakes, which will be offered at Detroit Saturday, close Tuesday. The Belle Isle is open to three-year-olds and upward and will be run over six furlongs. The St. Clair Stakes is for two-year-olds and will be run over five furlongs. John Gedert, auditor at Detroit, River Downs and Thistle Down, is confined to his home, suffering with influenza. Henderson Van Zandt, an attache of the racing secretarys office, arrived from River Downs Monday and took over his duties. Tom B. Young, young Lexington trainer, arrived Monday with Congressman, Ball-O-Fire, Inskip, Nanita, Spread, Ebony Hue, Dr. Smith, Letswin, In Spades, Lady Orchid, Sugar Run, Country Prince, Sucre, Rhimeda, Go Peg and Bourbon Time. Another shipment from River Downs to reach here was composed of Mine Boy. Burning Billows, Say Do, First Entry, Park City, Higher Up and Attainment, which are the property of George LaFlesh. H. G. Shoemakers Time to Play, Albert Beck, Derby Eve, Pawn Ticket, Fritz Hal-lam arrived from River Downs Monday, and Fountain Head and Judge Leer came from Churchill Downs. J. C. Metz, former owner of Gov. Chandler, Illinois Derby winner, brought Aerialist. White Bread, Mayjo and Ma Metz from River Downs. From Aurora H. Nellor brought Herdi, Chicken Lady, Skippy McGee, The Millay, Lenton and Wild Love, and H. K. Barron supervised the transfer of Bojangles, Exchange Club, Royal Link, Little Reigh, Colonel Martis, Sunny Chance and Streator from River Downs. Jockey R. L. Vedder arrived from River Downs and will remain here until the opening of the Delaware Park meeting.
